Significant growth in airfreight demands in September-16 throughout the world

Most of the world’s major cargo service carriers and airports have revealed their September-16 results. The whole report is showing growth in airfreight demand except the one and only China Southern as their September results were not better than its year-to-date results.

After analyzing these stats, it is assumed that IATA will show off the figures of 6% growth in the summary of worldwide airfreight demand for the month of September-16.

Results of Europe and Middle East

The demand of recovery at Lufthansa which has started in July and August, now accelerated in September, the total growth with group cargo traffic is 8.2% y-o-y for the month to 833 million RTKs. Lufthansa is continuously showing decline after two quarters bit now, it lifted the growth to 1.6% and 0.7% in July and August respectively. The overall growth is of 10.2% increase in traffic on the Asia-Europe lane to 423 million RTKs.

London Heathrow Airport revealed that their September month touched the uplift of 5.9% up to 126,000 tones.

Asia Pacific

A big name in Asian airlines group, Cathay Pacific Airways reported their September cargo traffic to Pakistan and rest of Asia and an uplift of 6.3% y-o-y to 922 million RTKs which is the continuity of the growth which started in June after 5 months of declining demands.

The exports especially from Europe, Asia and Mainland China all reported the good growth whereas the demand for freight on the North American routes was robust.

The air cargo industry in stable due to the remarkable uplift in airfreight demands. The current planning and actual figures taken from the last t couple of month is showing that the air cargo industry will lift up and will record significant improvements.
