Sea ports in North East of UK have proved their significance as strongest entity in economic development with five hundred million tons of cargo transferred

North East business community, a region in the UK enjoys healthy and balanced trade. North East sea cargo activities and trade in this region has increased constantly.

Six ports in the region have played a vital role in this achievement. Britain’s port industry is a leading mark in Europe as cargo delivery operators. Britain’s port industry handles 500 million tons freight yearly. A big volume of Europe freight passes through these ports.

Ports have an important value in the Europe economy. Most of UK economic infrastructure is based on sea cargo in this part of the world. Sea cargo plays a vital role in imports and exports of UK. Over 95 percent imports and exports are still delivered via sea.

Global trade has a lot of importance in the economic development of any country. Every country is associated with global trade. Approximately 90 percent of world-wide freight relies on the sea cargo.

Global trade trusts the infrastructure and connectivity at the ports of Tyne, Sunderland, Hartlepool and Tess. These four ports handle the cargo of major industries of the country such as Polymer, chemical processing, Steel, Engineering, Oil and gas, Atomic energy, biotechnology and tourism. These industries are the backbone of the UK’s economy.

UK sea cargo plays a vital role in generating the powerful economic infrastructure for any country. Chief executive of Tyne port revealed that pre-tax profits nearly doubled to £10.2 million whereas total cargo controlled on the port was 6.7 million tons which is the second best since 1989.

Tess port also plays a vital role by transferring freight for the economic development of the country. Brookfield who operates Tess port claims that revenue and profits increased and it expects Tess port to move into the list of top five UK’s port for tonnage volumes.

Sunderland port is rewiring the UK’s rail network by repairing rail lines. Blyth port has also benefited from its Enterprise Zone status to become the heart for offshore energy companies.
