Heathrow Airport to get a new runway and it is under development for the cargo terminals

The expansion of Heathrow airport with new runway no-3 is on its way with hundreds and thousands of welcome calls from the public and communities and the most importantly from UK Airport Commission as well. They recommended the third runway as a serious need for isolated cargo deliveries.

One of the major stakeholder is behaving like they were ignored during the decision making and filing the issues they are facing during this expansion process, it’s none other than flights to Heathrow.

They have shown the utmost antipathy, during the development process, more than £31 billion are expected to be lost due to reduced trade.

Director General of IATA admitted that he had serious reservations over the conditions attached to the recommendations. There is a need to reduce air pollution and noise in the area and company will try its level its best to do so and decrease the impact of the expansion of the airport.

The night flight ban is one of the major hurdles, and it is fading the image of the Heathrow as an economic hub. It would further weaken the attraction of the airport in future.

The restrictions are a bad solution when there are several other options available to handle the situation.

From the delegates, IAG came under some serious fire in its absence and categorical muteness on the recommendations from the airport commission of the UK. IAG was afraid of some additional competition associated with the expansion of the Heathrow. EasyJet and IATA set their stand on the recommendations for the pre-funding of the new project.

There is a major issue which was raised by the IATA director, was about to “Pay Now and Pass Later” policy of the Airport Commission. Any of the airlines is not ready to pay the toll for the runway which is built yet. They said that why they should pay for the infrastructure which will be ready after several years from now.

According to the airline, it is a pre-funding that means, airlines serving the Heathrow today, it would bill our future and will give benefits to new comers after expansion. They questioned by the authorities that in what other sectors would something like that even to be considered?

EasyJet is not operating from Heathrow, but in the future, after the new runway, they were planning to put 30 flights on Heathrow, but after this policy of paying in advance, they said that we should let other airlines to pay in advance. But airport should think about it.
