Emirates SkyCargo is going to expand its cargo business network  to Kingdom of Cambodia to catch the rising cargo volume demands in the South East Asian region.

Emirates SkyCargo a Dubai-based airline is ready to fly for the Kingdom of Cambodia. Emirates SkyCargo will start its cargo service to Cambodia in this month with a weekly flight and this flight will capable of carrying 80 tons cargo. This flight of Emirates SkyCargo will fly from Dubai International Airport to Phnom Penh International Airport.

It is the 53^rd destination of the Emirates SkyCargo carrier around the world freighter network and 13^th destination in the Far East. According to the airline announcement, from Phnom Penh airport the cargo will be delivered around Cambodia by trucks and other road sources. This new cargo service to Cambodia will connect the Cambodian market to the rest of the world.

Growing air cargo market of Cambodia

The link of Cambodia with the Dubai will give more strength to the air cargo market of Cambodia. Air cargo market of Cambodia is developing rapid rate with Europe and USA being a main export market. The presence of the Emirates SkyCargo in the Cambodia will give it more business benefits. According to Emirates SkyCargo spokesperson the strong network of Emirates SkyCargo and Dubai as an international cargo hub disclose that Emirates SkyCargo can connect its customers in Asia to 150 destinations including Europe, North America and in African region.

According to the Cambodia Airports which is managing the other three airports of the kingdom, the air freight volume to and from Cambodia is increased 14 percent to 38065 tons during last year 2015. The Cambodia and European Union trade lane for air cargo is also one of the rapidly developing trade lanes connecting new formed and developed markets with a compounded annual growth rate of 16.5 percent in the last three years. Fabric, leather are the key imports of Cambodia and textile and garments  are the major exports from Cambodia.

According to the Cambodia Airports communications and marketing director Khek Norinda cargo volume at Phnom Penh airport raised 17 percent from January to March of this year. He further added that most of the exports were garments, footwear, mangoes and electronic devices and leather was a major import. MD 11 freighter aircraft will be used as a weekly flight from Dubai to Cambodia and this aircraft will carry approximately 80-ton cargo volume. The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 is a medium to long range wide body aircraft and it is enabled to carry outsized and long cargo consignments.
